LEDs in the news: Cities throughout the U.S. upgrade to LED technology
Communities throughout the United States interested in lowering their electrical bills while benefiting the environment are looking to LED technology to achieve these goals.
The most recent city in the news to do so is Montgomery, Alabama. According to a press release from the power company footing the bill, Alabama Power, the city plans to upgrade every light to LED to reduce light pollution and improve the city’s light quality. Through this process, they expect to save the city $600,000 over five years.
We’re encouraged that more and more municipalities are making the decision to benefit their communities by upgrading to LED fixtures, and hope to see similar transitions in our local Missouri and Illinois municipalities.
